The Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season is set to resume on Thursday following the October international break. In just four weeks, 69 goals have been netted across 24 matches, delivering an impressive 2.88 goals per game.

Bengaluru FC and Punjab FC remain the only unbeaten sides, while East Bengal FC are still seeking their first point as we head into Matchweek 5.

Punjab FC, maintaining a perfect record, return to action after sitting out last week, while Odisha FC will have a blank matchweek.

To help fantasy managers, we’ve curated the strongest starting eleven for Matchweek 5 in a 3-4-3 formation.

Goalkeepers

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (5.7 CR)

Bengaluru FC’s goalkeeper has been outstanding this season, making crucial saves and keeping a clean sheet in every game so far. With the Blues returning to their home ground to face second-placed Punjab FC, Sandhu should be the top choice for fantasy managers in his position.

Padam Chettri (4.4 CR) (Substitute)

Padam Chettri offers a reliable backup option for managers needing a substitute goalkeeper to cover this spot.

Defenders

Steven Eze (4.8 CR)

Eze has been a rock at the back for Jamshedpur FC this season. The Nigerian centre-back was dominant in his last game against East Bengal FC and will aim to keep his form when facing Hyderabad FC, a team yet to score this season. He could also contribute offensively.

Rahul Bheke (5.1 CR)

Bheke has been Bengaluru FC’s standout defender, showing great discipline. Currently the highest fantasy points scorer with 42, Bheke’s ability to score from set pieces makes him an excellent pick for the next matchweek.

Aakash Sangwan (5.0 CR)

The left-back has started three of FC Goa’s four games and seems to be the preferred option for coach Manolo Marquez. With set-piece responsibilities, Sangwan could be a valuable addition to your fantasy squad this week.

Alex Saji (4.4 CR) (Substitute)

Saji put in a man-of-the-match performance against Chennaiyin FC, helping Hyderabad FC earn a draw. He’ll be crucial again when Hyderabad plays Jamshedpur FC away, and at 4.4 CR, he’s a strong option off the bench.

Buanthanglun Samte (4.0 CR) (Substitute)

Samte is a budget-friendly choice at 4.0 CR, with NorthEast United FC set to play Chennaiyin FC at home. He could be a shrewd pick for managers looking to balance their budgets.

Midfielders

Noah Sadaoui (11.4 CR) (Captain)

The Moroccan forward has only blanked once this season, scoring three goals and registering an assist. With Adrian Luna back from injury, Sadaoui is likely to play a more advanced role, increasing his potential for attacking returns.

Dimitrios Petratos (12.9 CR)

Although Petratos hasn’t hit his best form yet this season, he’ll be eager to shine in the upcoming Kolkata Derby against East Bengal FC. He has a history of delivering in these matches, with attacking returns in his last four games against the Red and Gold Brigade in the ISL.

Borja Herrera (9.0 CR)

Borja has found his form recently, netting four goals in the last two matches. Playing in a more advanced position this season, he’ll be looking to add to his tally against Mumbai City FC.

Nihal Sudeesh (5.0 CR)

In-form Nihal Sudeesh is a player every manager will want in their squad. Punjab FC returns to action this week, and the winger will be aiming to make an impact after drawing a blank in Matchweek 3.

Lalrinliana Hnamte (4.5 CR) (Substitute)

Hnamte has been a consistent starter under Owen Coyle and, at just 4.5 CR, offers a great value pick from the bench for the upcoming matchweek.

Forwards

Armando Sadiku (8.7 CR)

Sadiku has been in outstanding form since joining FC Goa, already scoring four goals in three games. He leads the Golden Boot race and will be looking to add more when his team takes on Mumbai City FC.

Alaaeddine Ajaraie (8.1 CR) (Vice Captain)

Ajaraie is in sensational form, scoring in all four matches so far and providing assists in two of them. The Moroccan is a top pick for Matchweek 5, with NorthEast United FC hosting Chennaiyin FC.

Nikolaos Karelis (7 CR)

Mumbai City FC’s forward Karelis will look to lead his team to their first win of the season. Having already registered a goal and an assist, Karelis will aim to extend his tally when they face FC Goa at Fatorda.
