Matchweek 7 of the Indian Super League (ISL) featured high-scoring fixtures, with no match ending in a draw. Mohun Bagan Super Giant and FC Goa were the only teams to keep a clean sheet among the 11 participating sides.

Mohun Bagan SG, FC Goa, NorthEast United FC, and Punjab FC all maintained supremacy in the recently concluded matchweek. Moreover, the Gaurs broke Bengaluru FC’s unbeaten streak, while Mumbai City FC secured their first home win of the season, both of which highlighted the matchweek.

The Mariners added another victory to their streak, defeating Hyderabad FC in the opening clash of Matchweek 7. The following games saw Punjab FC returning to winning ways against Chennaiyin FC, while Manolo Marquez’s men breached the Blues’ defensive wall with a 3-0 win.

The Highlanders and the Islanders secured all three points in Sunday’s doubleheader. In the final fixture of the matchweek, Owen Coyle’s men thumped Jamshedpur FC with a dominant 5-1 victory at the Furnace.

Vishal Kaith (Mohun Bagan SG)

Vishal Kaith registered his third consecutive clean sheet against Hyderabad FC, securing three back-to-back wins in the ISL 2024-25 season. The Mohun Bagan SG goalkeeper made several crucial saves against Thangboi Singto's men, denying them the chance to find the back of the net.

Defenders

Subhasish Bose (Mohun Bagan SG) - Captain

Subhasish Bose notched his third goal in the ongoing season against the Yellow and Black. The Mariners' captain played a pivotal role in Mohun Bagan SG's 2-0 victory against Hyderabad FC.

Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)

Sandesh Jhingan returned to the starting XI after being sidelined for several months due to injury. The Indian international made an immediate impact in the Gaurs' defensive line, as Manolo Marquez's men registered their first clean sheet after 11 games.

Nathan Rodrigues (Mumbai City FC)

Rodrigues had a memorable outing against the Kerala Blasters FC, as the 20-year-old scored his first ISL goal for the club that too in front of their home supporters. Moreover, Rodrigues became the fourth youngest goal scorer for Mumbai City FC in the Indian Super League after Bhumij Pranjal, Vikram Partap Singh, and Gurkirat Singh.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mumbai City FC)

Lallianzuala Chhangte marked his 150th ISL appearance against the Blasters. The Mumbai City FC captain scored a goal and provided an assist in the Islanders' first home win of the season.

Elsinho (Chennaiyin FC)

Elsinho had played an anchoring role in Chennaiyin FC's 5-1 victory against Khalid Jamil's men. The Brazilian, who came off the bench against the Shers in their opening match this week, found himself back in the starting lineup against Jamshedpur FC.

Mohammed Ali Bemammer (NorthEast United FC)

Mohammed Ali Bemammer came in clutch once again for the Highlanders as NorthEast United FC edged past Odisha FC on their home turf. The box-to-box midfielder played a pivotal role in the heart of the pitch with his smart passing and ability to win possession.

Connor Shields (Chennaiyin FC)

Connor Shields played an instrumental role in Chennaiyin FC's thumping 5-1 victory against Jamshedpur FC. Besides netting a goal, Shields recorded 17 crosses against the Men of Steel, his joint-highest such total in a single game in the ISL.

Forwards

Irfan Yadwad (Chennaiyin FC)

Irfan Yadwad won the 'Player of the Match' award against the Men of Steel in Chennaiyin FC's second match this matchweek. The 23-year-old forward recorded a goal and two assists against Jamshedpur FC, becoming the first Indian player to record three goal contributions in a single game in the ongoing season.

Luka Majcen (Punjab FC)

Luka Majcen returned to Punjab FC's starting lineup against Chennaiyin FC after sustaining a jaw injury a couple of weeks before. The Slovenian forward staged a fantastic performance against the Marina Machans as he scored a second-half brace in Punjab FC's 3-2 win in New Delhi.

Alaaeddine Ajaraie (NorthEast United FC)

Alaaeddine Ajaraie has now registered 13 goal contributions in his opening seven ISL games (9 goals and 4 assists), surpassing Coro. The Moroccan forward continued his sensational form, scoring twice in the first half against Odisha FC. Moreover, Ajaraie is now the league's highest goal scorer, averaging a goal every 61 minutes.
