My team for Hero Indian Super League (ISL) Matchweek 5 goes like this: I’ve gone for a back three led by Rostyn Griffiths in the centre. I have picked two foreign players in midfield and one in the attack.

For my pick as head coach, I’m going to go with FC Goa's Carlos Pena because he’s very quickly made the transition from a player to coach at a club.

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Dheeraj Singh (FC Goa)

Dheeraj showed fantastic courage and bravery, and had the ability to come back with the protective head guard. He had an absolutely wonderful game against Jamshedpur FC and he’s been the best shot-stopper all season for me, so he’s in goal for me.

Nikhil Poojary (Hyderabad FC)

I’ve been really impressed by Poojary, he seems to have converted almost seamlessly from a winger to a full-back.

Rostyn Griffiths (Mumbai City FC)

Griffiths came up with a goal in that fantastic game against ATK Mohun Bagan. He was more than just a goalscorer. He was a solid rock in the Mumbai City FC defence, which is his principle job.

Anwar Ali (FC Goa)

To come back after such a lengthy absence due to that heart condition shows what a solid performer he is. What a class performer he has been for FC Goa and he’s not put a foot wrong since he returned.

Sahal Abdul Samad (Kerala Blasters FC)

Sahal is usually subbed (off) roundabout the 60-70th minute mark during games. This time, the coach (Ivan Vukomanovic) decided to put him on as a substitute. He came on and scored two (goals) in just a matter of minutes and got an excellent and a necessary victory for Kerala Blasters FC against NorthEast United FC.

Joni Kauko (ATK Mohun Bagan)

I like this player. He’s a class international from Finland. He’s a driving force in the team, he never shirks the challenge. He got the goal for the other night in their match against Mumbai City FC.

Anirudh Thapa (Chennaiyin FC)

I often go for him. Heart of midfield from Chennaiyin FC, he leads by example and it was a crucial win against East Bengal FC. Anirudh was Hero of the Match, and justifiably so, he gets into the team.

Halicharan Narzary (Hyderabad FC)

He showed absolutely superb touchline skill in creating what turned out to be the winning goal for Mohammad Yasir against Odisha FC. Hali has got a couple of goals this season already.

Ahmed Jahouh (Mumbai City FC)

Jahouh put on an absolute masterclass. Arrogance aligned with artistry, that’s the way I would describe Jahouh’s performance for Mumbai City FC against ATK Mohun Bagan.

Iker Guarrotxena (FC Goa)

He really controlled that much in the game against Jamshedpur FC, came up with the early goal as well. He’s not put a foot wrong since he arrived in India.

Lallianzuala Chhangte (Mumbai City FC)

I couldn’t really leave Lallianzuala Chhangte out. He’s rejuvenated ever since he’s moved from Chennaiyin FC, and what an explosive finish it was that really ignited, in what for me, was a wonderful match against ATK Mohun Bagan.

Head Coach: Carlos Pena (FC Goa)

He’s got FC Goa playing with a sort of an attractive football the Gaurs demand. They bust Jamshedpur FC from start to finish, and what a good job he’s been doing.
