Another exciting gameweek of football in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 ended on Sunday with the Kerala Blasters-Hyderabad FC match. In this gameweek, ATK Mohun Bagan handed Bengaluru FC their first defeat of the season and took a step closer to the top spot in the points table. Arindam Bhattacharja

Featuring in the team of the week for the first time this season, ATK Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharja kept his fifth clean sheet of the season in the 1-0 win against Bengaluru FC. The 31-year-old saved both the shots he faced on target to maintain his side’s lead and also effected two clearances.

Abdul Hakku

Playing his first game of the season on Sunday, Kerala defender Abdul Hakku had a night to remember against Hyderabad FC as he scored his first-ever Hero ISL goal. Defensively, the 26-year-old Indian came up with nine clearances, two successful interceptions and two blocks.

Stephen Eze

Featuring in the team of the week for the first time this season, the Nigerian defender scored the opener for Jamshedpur FC in their defeat against FC Goa. It was his second goal of the season. Defensively, Stephen Eze made five successful interceptions and eight clearances besides blocking three shots.

Benjamin Lambot

Benjamin Lambot scored the first goal for NorthEast United FC during their 2-2 draw against Odisha FC. The defender boasted a passing accuracy of 91% and also blocked thrice in addition to four clearances, helping the Highlanders in securing an important point.

Matti Steinmann

Featuring in the team of the week for the first time, SC East Bengal midfielder Matti Steinmann scored a brace to earn his side a draw against Chennaiyin FC. The Hero-of-the-Match created two chances and had two of his own shots on target. He also made one successful interception and two successful tackles.

Joao Victor

The Hyderabad FC midfielder had a good game against Kerala Blasters even though his side lost 2-0. He created two chances and had three shots in the game. He also made two successful tackles, three successful interceptions and three blocks.

Halicharan Narzary

Another Hyderabad player to have a good game against Kerala was Halicharan Narzary. The Indian midfielder created once chance and had 65 touches of the ball. He also effected three successful tackles, one successful interception, one clearance as well as one block.

Edu Bedia

Edu Bedia played an important role in FC Goa’s win over Jamshedpur FC by providing the winning assist. The midfielder had 103 touches of the ball and completed 67 passes in the match.

Rahul KP

Rahul KP makes his first team of the week this season. The Kerala midfielder created one chance and had 53 touches of the ball. He also effected three successful tackles, one successful interception, two clearances and one block. 

Igor Angulo

The Spanish forward scored both the goals in FC Goa’s 2-1 win over Jamshedpur. The 36-year-old converted a penalty to equalise in the 64th minute before scoring the winner in the dying minutes of the game. In all, he had four shots in the match.   

David Williams

ATK Mohun Bagan won their fifth match of Hero ISL 2020-21 as David Williams scored his first goal of the season. Featuring in the team of the week for the first time this season, the striker found the back of the net with his only shot on target. He also created a chance.
