In what was a gameweek of outright results, there were some crucial outcomes too as the 2020-21 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) well and truly entered the business end. NorthEast United FC kicked off Gameweek 16 with a third straight win, this time over leaders Mumbai City FC. Meanwhile, ATK Mohun Bagan came back from two goals down to beat Kerala Blasters FC and reduce the gap on Sergio Lobera’s men. Both Hyderabad FC and Jamshedpur FC secured the three points as well before Bengaluru FC ended their eight-game unbeaten run against SC East Bengal. TP Rehenesh

TP Rehenesh kept a third consecutive clean sheet in Jamshedpur’s 1-0 victory over Odisha FC. The Indian shot-stopper saved the only shot on target that he faced besides making four clearances, two punches and two catches for his team.

Asish Rai

Hyderabad youngster Asish Rai ensured that his team kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Chennaiyin FC. Rai had six successful tackles, and also made three successful interceptions, three blocks and three clearances for his team.

Stephen Eze

Stephen Eze was a rock in the Jamshedpur defence and ensured that his team maintained their slender lead over Odisha with six clearances and three successful interceptions. The Nigerian defender also made two blocks and created one chance for his team.

Amey Ranawade

Amey Ranawade was on the losing side but was one of Mumbai City’s best players on the night against NorthEast United FC. In addition to creating two chances, Amey also managed four successful tackles and three blocks for his team.

Mohammad Mobashir

Jamshedpur FC’s Mohammad Mobashir grabbed the winning goal against Odisha with a deep cross that confused his striker as well as the goalkeeper before going into the goal. The youngster had a passing accuracy of 70% and also made one block for his team. For the first time this season, he made it to the team of the week.

Joao Victor

Joao Victor assisted both the goals that helped Hyderabad to a win over the Marina Machans. The Brazilian midfielder created three chances for his team, and also had a passing accuracy of 81%. Defensively, he made five blocks and two clearances for his team.

Alexandre Lima

Brazilian midfielder Alexandre Lima came up with a strong performance for Jamshedpur against Odisha. He created four chances for his team, and had a passing accuracy of 70% as well. Seiminlen Doungel

India international Seiminlen Doungel was a constant threat in Jamshedpur’s attacking third and was unlucky not to have found the back of the net. Cleiton Silva

The midfielder scored the opener for Bengaluru FC in their 2-0 win over SC East Bengal. Cleiton created two chances in the match. He also had two successful tackles, one successful interception and two blocks for the Blues. 

Roy Krishna

Roy Krishna scored twice to help ATK Mohun Bagan script a dream 3-2 comeback win against Kerala Blasters FC. The Fijian striker scored his first goal from the spot to equalise for his team before adding a second goal to ensure the three points for his team.

Deshorn Brown

Jamaican striker Deshorn Brown scored twice in three minutes to help his side do the double over table toppers Mumbai City. He scored a brilliant volley to give NorthEast United the lead before pouncing on a ricochet to help secure a third-straight win for his team. For the first time this season, he made it to the team of the week.
