Mumbai City FC continued their domination in the 2020-21 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) with a 3-1 win over Bengaluru FC, ending Gameweek 10 at the top position. Plenty of goals were scored and a great many performances unfolded to make this an entertaining gameweek of football. Let’s check out who all made it to the Team of the Week for Gameweek 10 that ended with the Odisha-Kerala game on Thursday night.

Arindam Bhattacharja

ATK Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharja makes his third straight appearance in the team of the week with a stellar performance against NorthEast United. The 31-year-old custodian kept his seventh clean sheet of the season in the 2-0 win against the Highlanders.

Mourtada Fall

Mumbai City FC defender Mourtada Fall scored his first goal of the 2020-21 Hero ISL in the 3-1 win over Bengaluru FC on Tuesday and as a result made it to the team of the week for a sixth time this season. With a whopping 91% pass accuracy and 10 clearances, the Senegalese center-back helped the Islanders regain the top spot in the points table.

Steven Taylor

Featuring in the team of the week for the first time this season, the defender scored the second goal for Odisha against Kerala Blasters in their 4-2 win. He came up with five clearances, two successful interceptions, five blocks and one successful tackle besides boasting a 79% passing accuracy.

Asish Rai

Hyderabad FC’s Asish Rai makes his fourth appearance in the team of the week after a strong show against Chennaiyin FC. The defender cleared the ball thrice and successfully intercepted it as many times during Hyderabad’s 4-1 triumph over the Marina Machans. Rai also created two opportunities and had a shot on target.

Halicharan Narzary

Halicharan Narzary helped Hyderabad FC register their third win of the season by scoring a brace against Chennaiyin FC. He completed 44 passes besides making three successful tackles and two clearances. This is his third appearance in the team of the week.

Joao Victor

Scoring his second goal of the season, Joao Victor played an important role in Hyderabad’s win. Apart from scoring, the Brazilian midfielder also created three opportunities for his teammates. Victor made two clearances and three successful interceptions while boasting a pass accuracy of 90%.

Jorge Ortiz Mendoza

Ortiz made it into the team of the week for the fourth time this season after a strong showing in the midfield during FC Goa’s draw against SC East Bengal. The midfielder made 67 touches and had three shots on target besides creating a chance as well.

Anirudh Thapa

Although Chennaiyin FC went down to Hyderabad FC on Monday, Anirudh Thapa impressed and calmly netted a goal after a defensive blunder from Hyderabad. The young midfielder also created four chances and provided five crosses along with a successful tackle.

Diego Mauricio

The Brazilian had a great game against Kerala and he was involved in three of Odisha’s four goals. In the first half, it was his cross that took a deflection off Jeakson Singh and went into the back of the net. The second half saw the Hero of the Match produce two brilliant strikes.

Bright Enobakhare

Bright Enobakhare put in a brilliant effort, beating four FC Goa defenders and the goalkeeper to score his second goal of the season for SC East Bengal in as many matches. The Nigerian forward also created one chance and had 42 touches in the match. He was deservedly named Hero of the Match.

Jordan Murray

Murray scored the opening goal for Kerala Blasters against Odisha. Even though his team lost the game, he had a fruitful day on a personal level. He also provided the assist for Kerala’s second goal besides creating three chances. This is the first time this season that Murray has made it to the team of the week.
