After propping up the points table last season with just two wins in 18 games, Hyderabad FC look forward to a fresh start in the 2020-21 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL), and players in the team are confident about the squad built by the club under Spanish head coach Manuel Marquez.

Defender Chinglensana Singh and midfielder Sahil Tavora are particularly impressed. “There are a lot of good additions to the squad with foreign signings. I'm looking forward to playing with them. The training has been good and the atmosphere has been great.

“We are all combining well and we're playing as a team. We are sharing our views, opinions and everyone is contributing and giving their 100%. We're going to keep improving which is really good for the team,” 23-year-old Chinglensana told indiansuperleague.com on Hyderabad FC’s club day on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tavora said that the addition of experienced Indian players like Halicharan Narzary and Subrata Paul will boost the development of Hyderabad FC’s young guns. “It's important for the team, for the young players. We got a young talented squad that will learn from the experienced Indian internationals, both on the pitch and off it. They can implement it in their game and even practice and take that into the matchday.”

The 25-year-old midfielder was also happy to have more games this season on account of the expansion of the league. “With the addition of the new team, we're going to get more points, which is good for the Hero ISL. It's important for all of us to have more games to play so we can show ourselves on the pitch.

“We want to be ready for our first game on 23rd [November], both physically as well as a team, and take it one game at a time,” said Tavora.

Hyderabad FC play their first match of the season against Odisha FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.
