ATK Mohun Bagan striker Roy Krishna has been chosen Hero of the Month for November in a 2020-21 Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) vote that ended at 12 noon on Friday. Both fans and experts combined to choose the winner through their votes cast between December 1 (from 12 noon) and December 4 (till 12 noon).

Krishna, who scored one goal each in his team’s wins against Kerala Basters FC and fierce rivals SC East Bengal, beat Nerijus Valskis (Jamshedpur FC), Anirudh Thapa (Chennaiyin FC), Diego Mauricio (Odisha FC) and Igor Angulo (FC Goa) on his way to the monthly award.

Of total 16,881 votes from fans, Krishna bagged 3,546 besides having six out of total nine experts’ votes and as per the rule, which says “fans' votes will count towards 50% of the vote share and experts' votes account for remaining 50%”, the Fijian found himself at a total percentage of 43.84%, highest among all five nominees.

Lithuanian striker Valskis, who scored three goals in two games including a brace against Odisha FC, was second in the vote behind Krishna at 23.84%, having got 4,299 votes from fans and two from experts.

Meanwhile, Indian midfielder Thapa, who scored for Chennaiyin FC in the first minute of the game itself against Jamshedpur FC in his team’s 2-1 win, was third in the list with 15.72% of total votes in his favour. He got 3,431 votes from fans and one from experts.

Brazilian forward Mauricio, who scored two second-half goals to help Odisha FC to a 2-2 draw against Jamshedpur FC, got the maximum votes from fans (4,413) but no votes from experts meant he found himself at 13.07%.

Finally, Angulo, who scored FC Goa’s both goals in the second half against Bengaluru FC in a 2-2 draw and then notched up his third of the season against NorthEast United FC in a 1-1 draw, took the last position among all five nominees at 3.53% having got 1,192 votes from fans and zero votes from the experts.
