The Hero Indian Super League has witnessed some riveting action ever since it kicked off on October 12, 2014. Till date, 128 goals have been scored in 60 games, with 35,220 passes being strung together, and a couple of thousands of crosses, interceptions and tackles each being made, apart from less than a thousand each of saves and corners being recorded, among other vital statistics. These figures will of course need revision after the final between Kerala Blasters FC and Atlético de Kolkata is played on December 20.Of the 128 goals scored till the semis at a decent average of 2.13 per game, the maximum have been knocked in by beaten semi-finalists Chennaiyin FC (27), followed by FC Goa (21), who have topped the charts when it comes to other attacking parameters like assists, shots and shots on goal and corners forced. Goa have also been the top passing team, with a total of 5,136 successful passes. Kerala have put in the highest crosses, their numbers reading 301 before tomorrow's game. Incidentally, nearly one-third of Chennai’s goals were scored by their marquee player Elano Blumer (8), the leading contender for the Golden Boot award.On the defensive side, Kerala Blasters conceded the least amount of goals in the league phase (11), but Goa have conceded the least amount of goals overall in the tournament (12) till they were knocked out in the semis. But the team with the most impressive defensive stats is Kolkata, with 408 interceptions, 365 tackles and 109 blocks.Among individual goalkeepers, Delhi Dynamos FC’s Kristof van Hout has made the most saves (62) though Goa’s Jan Seda, who is the leading contender for the Golden Glove award, has kept the most clean sheets (7).On the disciplinary front, Chennaiyin have had the most desultory record, having collected a maximum of 36 yellow cards, though Kolkata committed the most number of fouls (241) Kolkata’s tally of three red cards is the joint-highest with two other teams in the league.
