Bengaluru FC will be on the road for the first time this season when they go head-to-head against FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Monday. Last season’s finalists have had a good start to their campaign, claiming victory in their first match against defending champions Chennaiyin, while drawing against Jamshedpur FC in their second. Carles Cuadrat and his troops will be eager to emerge victorious against Miguel Portugal’s side, which could see them top the charts.

A day prior to kick-off, Cuadrat was available at the pre-match conference to speak to the media, where he began by highlighting the Blues season so far. “The season started just now, but we have been working from the last three months because we had the boys. We have been working hard and they are following the instructions that I have told them. They are working in the direction that we have been trying and I think that we are in a very good shape physically. We have no injuries and we have the full squad ready to play.”

The 49-year-old continued by sharing his views on the late goals that have become prevalent in this season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), stating that all the teams were equal when it came to strength. “In the Hero ISL, there are a lot of results that change because of last moment goals. It has been happening during the last few games. When one team is going down and they have to try and get some points, they go for the crazy attack. And sometimes they get the result and it’s interesting to see how the league is going until now. There is a lot of equality and a lot of results are changing in the last minute.”

When asked if the match against Pune will be the perfect opportunity to rebuild momentum, considering their unbeaten record against them, the Spaniard replied, “I’m not thinking about that. I think it’s too soon in the season to think about these kinds of questions because we just started. I think all the games against Pune have been really nice games with good football because we have an offensive squad and Pune also have very talented players in the attack. So, I think that both teams are not in a moment where we are fighting for a playoff, we are in a more relaxed moment. It means that tomorrow we can see a nice show.”
