NorthEast United FC fell to a 1 – 0 defeat against ATK in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Sunday. With their sixth loss on the trot, the Highlanders finished rock-bottom in the league standings. Midfielder Helio Pinto, who was a mid-season signing, started the game and spoke to indiansuperleague.com post-match. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on the match?

I believe it was disappointing because those who watched the match can see that we created a lot of chances to score and the other team had two or three shots and they won the game. Unfortunately, it was a year to forget for our team. We had many games that we played good but we didn’t get the three points and football is like this. You must score.

What positives would you take from the season?

I just came in January and from what I have seen the league is growing and have all the conditions to be a fantastic league. The stadiums are very good, and everybody creates an environment that is very good and I believe in a few years the Hero ISL will be very nice.

Your thoughts on the Super Cup?

We’ll try to do our best there and we hope that even if we play bad, we win because we are playing good and we are losing. So, the most important thing now is to win.

Any message to the fans?
