Josep Gombau’s Delhi Dynamos have had a difficult start to the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 season with wins still eluding them as they head into their eighth match of the season. However, the Lions will take heart from their gritty second half display against Jamshedpur last week where they snatched a point from a losing position.

Ahead of a daunting visit to Goa, indiansuperleague.com caught up for an exclusive interview with influential Dynamos midfielder Marcos Tebar. Here are a few excerpts.

How has your second stint with Delhi Dynamos FC been so far?

Well, this is my second experience here and I’m really happy playing for Delhi Dynamos FC. Last season when I stayed here, I enjoyed a lot playing in Hero ISL 3 and we got to the playoffs and that was a great experience here in India and now I’m motivated to be as good as possible and I’m enjoying.

How important is it to keep yourself motivated?

I’m always motivated, every game for us is important and we couldn’t get the three points in any of the games so far, but I think we are doing a great job and I think definitely we will get the three points very soon.

Thoughts on Josep Gombau and his style of play.

It’s been good so far, he’s got a Spanish style that I like to play in the team and it’s easy for me to play his style because I used to when I played in Spain and I think it’s something that Indian players are adapting very quickly to and I think in the next games we’ll see the improvement.

Can Delhi Dynamos FC capitalize on FC Goa’s recent heavy defeat?

Yeah, of course, I think we can win every single game. There are not many differences between the teams because I think we have a good team but for small details, we drop points on the way and I think, as I said, we can win every game and we can show that tomorrow.

Thoughts on the young Indian talent.

We have a bunch of Indian players here who are developing very quick and I think we have one of the youngest squads with a lot of quality, but obviously, they need to improve, they are very young but they have hunger and I think Chhangte, Sajid, players like Vinit or Nandha, they will be very important for the Indian national team in the following years.
