The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune lay witness to a thriller as CK Vineeth scored deep into injury time to ensure Kerala Blasters FC edge FC Pune City 2-1 on Friday. Emiliano Alfaro’s equaliser from the spot was not enough to rescue points, with the defeat finding the Stallions seated at third in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 table. After the final whistle, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the host’s dejected skipper Marcelo Pereira to find out his thoughts on the match. Here are the excerpts.

What do you think went wrong today?

I don’t know. It was hard luck. They made it difficult, they were getting in front of us and they were very compact. They did not give any space for me and Alfaro. Also for me, I made two mistakes and those cost us. Everything together, it was hard luck.

What do you have to say about the penalties?

About the one which was not given, everybody makes mistakes and for me, he made a big mistake. But it’s okay as everyone makes mistakes. It’s normal and we will respect this and we’ll continue for the next game.

Your plans for the next game.

There are a lot of games and many things can happen. But we need to keep working hard and try to win the next games.
