FC Goa have agreed terms with Ferran Corominas to keep him at the club for one more year. The Spaniard, considered by many as possibly the best striker to have played in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL), will don the famed orange jersey for the 2019-20 season and represents a huge coup for the Gaurs.

Corominas, popularly known as Coro among fans, joined Goa ahead of the 2017-18 season and made an immediate impact scoring 18 goals in his very first Hero ISL campaign. These were unprecedented numbers for any player in the league's history and won him the Golden Boot award.

The 2018-19 season saw the Spanish hitman pick up right from where he left off and emerged as the top scorer once again with 16 goals, winning the Golden Boot yet again. The campaign also saw Coro go past Iain Hume and establish himself as the Hero ISL's all-time highest goal scorer - a title he still holds currently. Coro's talents, however, isn't just restricted to just his goal scoring prowess. The Spaniard is also a terrific creator and his 12 assists in 40 Hero ISL appearances bear testimony to his selfless nature as a player.

Despite his many personal accolades, it has always been a tale of 'so close yet so far' for Coro as far as the Hero ISL trophy has been concerned. After being knocked out in the semi-finals back in 2017-18, the coveted title eluded Goa and Coro yet again as the team narrowly lost out the Bengaluru FC in the 2018-19 final. The Gaurs redeemed themselves somewhat by winning the Hero Super Cup 2019, with Coro playing a starring role as the tournament's highest goal scorer with five strikes to his name.

With their first silverware secured, Goa will look to finally end their five-year wait for the Hero ISL in the upcoming campaign and needless to say, Coro will be the one spearheading the Gaurs charge to realize the dream.
