FC Goa’s Indian international Clifford Miranda ploughed up and down the left flank but was unable to help the home team avoid a 1-2 defeat against league leaders Atlético de Kolkata here tonight. The 32-year-old former Tata Football Academy graduate who hails from Margao, shared his impressions of the game in an exclusive interview with Indiansuperleague.com soon after the final whistle. Here are some excerpts: What did you feel about the game?I think it was a game well played, we controlled the first half, we controlled most of the game but unfortunately, we conceded a goal and ended up on the back foot and conceded another. We did try to come back later in the game but I think it was too little too late. There was a lot of aggression towards the end of the match, can you tell me exactly what was said in the dressing room? This is football so these kind of things do happen, so there’s nothing really to say about these incidents.I saw you running down the left wing for the entire game, how are your fitness levels and how do you see yourself playing the rest of the tournament? Well, that’s the job that I have been assigned, if I cannot carry it out I will not get to play, so it’s as simple as that.Andre Santos scored a good goal today, what are your thoughts on him? He’s a quick player and he’s played for some of the biggest clubs in world football and he has really played well of late; he’s one the players whom we are looking up to.After one point from three games, two of those being home games, how does FC Goa progress from here? The results have been bad for sure, it’s really not how we expected it to be but you know, it’s more of a marathon than a sprint so all is not lost. But our target is still to get into the top four so we will try our best to achieve our goal. How has the crowd support been? It’s been phenomenal, I haven’t seen such crowds in Goa for ages but the sad thing is that they have to go home disappointed and we’ll try to satisfy them.
