Jamshedpur FC beat ATK by a 1 – 0 scoreline in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Sunday. Trindade Goncalves’ second-half penalty secured the win for the league debutants who climbed to the fifth spot on the table. The result means that custodian Subrata Paul kept his sixth clean sheet of the season, as he came up with some important saves during the course of the game. Post the final whistle, indiansuperleague.com caught up with India’s ‘Spiderman’, who shared his views on the game. Here are the excerpts.

What are your thoughts on the game?

Very important three points. We’re in the race now for the top four. Both teams played very well. ATK did very well. They created some chances, but we kept a clean sheet. 1-0 is very good and so is the three points.

How happy are you with the clean sheet?

A clean sheet always feels good and after five matches we kept one again. Both the teams played very well. We play as a team. From Izu Azuka to myself, we defended as a team. Like I said before, ATK also did very well. They created some chances but were a little bit unlucky.

How important was this win?

It’s a very, very important three points because away from home is always difficult. We have 19 points now and in the race for the top four. Hopefully, we get to earn more points and qualify for the playoffs.

What are your thoughts on FC Goa’s loss to Mumbai City FC earlier today?

We’re not looking at others, we have to look at ourselves only. We have to win anyhow. We have to do our job, keep going and listen to what the coach says. We have to work hard, do well, keep the shape, play well, score goals and earn the three points.
