NorthEast United coach Khalid Jamil urged his team to quickly regroup and work on their weaknesses after suffering a 2-4 defeat at the hands of Bengaluru FC in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) on Saturday.

The Highlanders defence was all over the place as the Blues struck thrice in first half to take a 3-2 lead. The game was eventually sealed when Price Ibara scored a fourth goal with nine minutes to play.

Jamil who is known for his defensive organisation will have a lot to think before the team's next match against Kerala Blasters.

He addressed the media after the game. Here are the excerpts from his post-match press conference.

Was it the plan to attack BFC's right side?

No, it was not like that. We planned just to think about our own game because we knew we were going to play against a tough team. Physically they are strong. We tried our best. It was not our day today.

What are the things that you need to improve?

Let's see. Tomorrow we have to sit and regroup. Defensively we have to be strong. And when we attack, we have to be sharp and clinical, so there are small things.

What was the reason behind choosing an all-Indian defence and what was Flottmann and Gallego not included?

Gallego was injured. Flottmann and other few players had loose motions so they were missing so we had to change the line-up last minute.

What are the aspects that you would want to improve against Kerala Blasters?

We have to think about ourselves first and then think about the Kerala team because it is an important game.
