With the Indian national team slated to play Jordan on November 17, head coach Stephen Constantine has announced a 30-man list of probables for the tie. The match will be held at the King Abdullah II International Stadium in Amman.
As part of the 30-man squad, Constantine has selected 14 U-23 players for the camp which will begin on November 11 in New Delhi. A number of stars who have impressed in Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 have found themselves a spot in the squad most notably – FC Goa’s Jackichand Singh, Bengaluru’s Nishu Kumar and ATK’s Arindam Bhattacharja. These players will be hoping to continue their good form in the hope of sealing a berth in the AFC Asian Cup 2019 squad.
This will be the first meeting between the two countries on the international stage. India are currently ranked 97 in the FIFA World Rankings while Jordan are placed at 112.
In a press release from the All India Football Federation (AIFF), Constantine stressed on the importance of staying sharp, especially when playing teams of Jordan’s quality. “We expect to play our game and try to win. When we play against the likes of China and Jordan, you need to understand that we are facing good teams. We will have to build on our previous result. Our main focus will be to stay in shape with and without the ball,” he stated.

GOALKEEPERS: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Amrinder Singh, Vishal Kaith, Arindam Bhattacharja.
DEFENDERS: Pritam Kotal, Nishu Kumar, Sarthak Golui, Sandesh Jhingan, Anas Edathodika, Salam Ranjan Singh, Subhasish Bose, Narayan Das, Jerry Lalrinzuala.
MIDFIELDERS: Udanta Singh, Nikhil Poojari, Pronay Halder, Rowllin Borges, Anirudh Thapa, Jackichand Singh, Vinit Rai, Germanpreet Singh, Halicharan Narzary, Ashique Kuruniyan, Bikash Jairu.
FORWARDS: Sunil Chhetri, Jeje Lalpekhlua, Sumeet Passi, Farukh Choudhary, Balwant Singh, Manvir Singh.
