Gameweek 12 of Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2020-21 saw a great many individual performances come to the fore as FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC were the only teams to register outright wins. The Gaurs triumphed over Jamshedpur FC, while Chennaiyin FC returned to winning ways after beating Odisha FC. There were two 1-1 draws -- in the NorthEast United FC-Bengaluru FC and SC East Bengal-Kerala Blasters FC games. And then in the last match of Gameweek 12 on Saturday, Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC shared the points following a goalless draw. The Gaurs particularly dominated the team of the week for Gameweek 12. Let’s see here who all earned the distinction.

Naveen Kumar

FC Goa custodian Naveen Kumar last made an appearance for the Gaurs in the final of Hero ISL 2018-19. Returning to the fold for the first time since, Naveen made five saves, three punches and two clearances against Jamshedpur FC to help Goa to their second clean sheet of the season.

Ivan Gonzalez

Making his first appearance in the team of the week this season, the Spanish defender put in a solid shift against Jamshedpur and made nine clearances, two successful tackles and two blocks for the Gaurs. Ivan Gonzalez also scored third and last goal of the game as he made a dash from FC Goa’s defensive third to finish the move in style.

Scott Neville

Scott Neville scored a late equaliser for SC East Bengal as they drew 1-1 against Kerala Blasters FC. Featuring in the team of the week for the first time this season, the Australian defender had a strong passing accuracy of 80% and he made two clearances. All three of his interceptions were also successful.

Rahul Bheke

India international Rahul Bheke scored the equalising goal for Bengaluru FC in their 1-1 draw against NorthEast United FC. Playing as a right back, the defender created three goal-scoring opportunities for the Blues and also had a formidable passing accuracy of 83%. Bheke made it to the team of the week for the first time this season.

James Donachie

James Donachie made a crucial goal-line clearance against Jamshedpur and helped the Gaurs to a clean sheet. He had a passing accuracy of 82% and made a total of two clearances and three successful interceptions.

Jorge Ortiz Mendoza

The Spaniard struck twice against Jamshedpur FC to ensure that FC Goa secured all three points. Scoring either side of the break, Ortiz also created one chance for the Gaurs and got four of his six shots on target.

Alberto Noguera

Alberto Noguera created four chances for FC Goa and assisted two of their three goals against Jamshedpur. The Spanish midfielder had a passing accuracy of 77% and helped out his defence with one successful tackle as well as one clearance.

Ahmed Jahouh

Jahouh had a good game against Hyderabad FC in a goalless draw. He created three chances for the Islanders. Defensively, he came up with five successful tackles, two clearances and one successful interception.

Jordan Murray

Jordan Murray scored Kerala Blasters FC’s only goal against SC East Bengal and also created one goal-scoring chance for his team. Defensively, the Australian forward made two successful tackles.

Esmael Goncalves

The Portuguese scored twice to end Chennaiyin’s winless run when they took on Odisha FC. After scoring his first goal in the 15th minute, Esmael converted from the spot six minutes later to double the Marina Machans’ lead.

Luis Machado

Luis Machado gave NorthEast United the lead in their 1-1 draw against Bengaluru. He also created one chance for the Highlanders besides tracking back to help the defence as he made one successful tackle, one clearance, and one block for his team.
