Brandon Fernandes, the Goan midfield magnifico is already a star in the making, given his stellar performances for FC Goa, and India. Here’s a flashback of his journey in the Hero ISL:

2015

Brandon got his first spell of the Hero ISL in 2015 with Mumbai City FC, making two appearances before being ruled out for the season due to an injury. Injuries are frustrating for any player but that’s where it all began for the Goan lad, who has gone on to become a vital player for both club and country.

2017-18

Brandon returned to the ISL, this time in FC Goa colours, and quickly found his feet. The midfielder racked up four assists and helped the Gaurs reach the semi-finals.

2018-19

Brandon netted his first Hero ISL goal that season, scoring three goals alongside providing 4 assists. His contributions went a long way as FC Goa reached the Hero ISL final, only to miss out on the title to Bengaluru FC in extra-time.

2019-20

Brandon enjoyed his most successful Hero ISL season, scoring two goals and also contributing seven assists, which was the highest tally by an Indian player that season. The midfielder played a huge role in helping FC Goa clinch their first-ever League Winners Shield.

2020-21

Brandon could only contribute three assists before being ruled out for the season through an injury, as FC Goa reached the semi-finals. But he returned with a bang in the AFC Champions League, putting up brave displays in midfield while also providing the assist for India’s first goal at the club competition.

Brandon’s contributions have not only been limited to FC Goa, as the midfielder has established himself as a key player for the national team under coach Igor Stimac. A lot more could be in store for the Goan lad, who is only scaling new heights. The Indian no.10 will be keen on bagging goals and assists for FC Goa as well as the Indian national team.
