Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 saw a second consecutive goalless draw as NorthEast United FC and league debutants, Jamshedpur FC shared the spoils at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. Midfielder Lalrindika Ralte was an attacking threat throughout and indiansuperleague.com caught up with him for his insights after the game.  Here are the excerpts.

It was a game of patience. Your thoughts on the match?

It was our first match and I think we played really good. We played according to the plan, created a lot of chances, but could not score. So next time, I hope we do better, score the goal and get the result.

How is the influence of your new coach on the team?

He is very good. He wants everything perfect. So, I think if we play good and work hard with the coach, we will get the result.

What do you have to say about such an energetic crowd?

Yeah, the fans are amazing. They are the twelfth member of the team and were amazing throughout the 90 minutes. So, I hope they keep supporting us like this throughout the season.

NEUFC created a lot of chances but failed to convert them. Do you think it was a positive start overall from your end?

Yeah, we created a lot of chances but could not score the goal. I think Subrata Paul did really well in the opponent’s goal. He made a lot of saves. So, I think we can play better next time.

Looking ahead to the season, what would you say?

We have to look forward match by match. So, our aim is to try and reach the semi-finals and then the championship.
