FC Pune City’s Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 campaign did not get off to a pleasant start after their late fightback against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune couldn’t prevent a 3-2 loss. One individual in the thick of the things for Pune was striker Emiliano Alfaro. The Uruguayan lived up to his billing by scoring with an exquisite strike and creating a number of chances for his new team. After the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the dejected forward for his insights on their opening fixture. Here are the excerpts

A poor start to the season for Pune. What are your opinions on the same?

Nothing. I am very angry about that but it's the first match and we have to change many things. We have to improve and go all-out in the next game. But of course, we are all very, very angry… it's difficult but no problem, it's a game. We have to look forward to the next game and learn from our mistakes. Nothing more.

It was a game of two halves. Tell us what happened in the second half.

Yes, the second half was too difficult. We tried to play well but I think this is good as they played better than us and won the game. Finish.

Pune almost made a comeback and scored two goals. Your thoughts on the same.

Yes, but time is not enough. It's just 90 minutes. They added 5 minutes but if we see everyone (wasting time) on the floor, we played less than 45 minutes. But this is okay, this is football. Sometimes it's for us and sometimes it's for the other teams. We have to improve and continue. That’s it.
