India national team head coach Igor Stimac has announced his 29-member squad for the preparatory camp ahead of the third FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 joint Qualifiers round 2 match against Bangladesh on October 15. The match will be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

To recall, India narrowly lost their first match of the Qualifiers against Oman but notched up a brilliant result in the second match, holding reigning AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar to a goalless draw in Doha. The result will be a big boost for the Blue Tigers' morale and the team will be desperate to follow it up with a win against neighbours Bangladesh to give them a fighting chance in Group E. Bangladesh, meanwhile, lost their opening match against Afghanistan 1-0 earlier this month and will face off against Qatar at home on October 10 before travelling to Kolkata.

One notable absentee from the preliminary list is midfielder Rowllin Borges, who featured in both of India's previous two matches. Amarjit Singh, who is nursing a hand injury, too, misses out.
