Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle assured fans of a promising season ahead alongside captain Peter Hartley and new signing Jordan Murray, during an interaction with the Hero ISL on the Let’s Football Live Twitter Space.

Jamshedpur finished sixth on the Hero ISL points table in the previous season, narrowly missing out on the playoffs. Their attack was a major concern last season, having netted just 21 goals. Coyle said their signings in attack will help address that issue with Jamshedpur having plenty of options such as Greg Stewart, Murray and Ishan Pandita.

'It's done now, it's finished (the previous season) but we improved enormously last year," Coyle said. "But to improve from that again.. we need to improve in the offensive third and that's why we signed the players that we have."

He added: "We certainly look to have competition (within the team), but be solid at the back and have that creative threat. There's going to be some wonderful teams in the league but we showed last year (we can beat anyone) on our own when we've been at our very best. We beat Mumbai, we beat ATK (Mohun Bagan FC) but we need to be a little more consistent and have that aggressive attacking threat that we have."

Murray, who was Kerala Blasters' top goalscorer last season with 7 goals but will be turning up for Jamshedpur this time, said the objective was to 'win at all costs', for the club and their fans.

"(It's) disappointing that we can't be with our fans, especially last season and this season coming in," the Australian said. "But even though we are away from home, for us foreigners, we have got a job to do. So hopefully this season, we can turn it on and win. I think that's the biggest thing for the club, they haven't made the playoffs yet, so that's definitely a target for us – to win every game. I'm not going to lie. The gaffer's put it out there, to win at all costs and that's what we should be aiming for anyway."

Meanwhile, captain Hartley, who will be leading the team for the second season running said he was aiming to create history and give Jamshedpur's passionate fans something to cheer for.

"My goal for the season is to make history (with Jamshedpur FC)," Hartley asserted. "This is the fifth season of Jamshedpur being in the ISL. We have got a great opportunity as players to become legends at this club because the club hasn't achieved anything yet. We have got an opportunity to give the fans something to celebrate."

There was also a special appearance from Farukh Choudhary, after Coyle praised him for his assist against Nepal that sealed India's first win at the SAFF Championship.

Farukh was ruled out of the tournament soon after with an injury, even as India went on to win the tournament, but the youngster sounded excited ahead of the upcoming season and promised to be back soon.  

"I wish I could be back from the national team directly to the club but unfortunately, I've picked up an injury. I'm doing good right now, focusing on my recovery and let's see how it goes," he revealed.

"I'm excited to watch all our games because the way I see the training videos, and (as) I know all of the players, I'm really excited that we are going to do amazing this season. I am looking forward to our games and I want to wish the best for everyone. If I cannot cheer you guys in Goa, I would be cheering you all from my house. And I'll make sure that I give my everything (to be back) while supporting you guys."

If Jamshedpur’s new signings can fire up-front in the absence of Farukh and better last season’s goal-scoring numbers, there could be a big season in store for the Men of Steel.
