Fourth edition of RFYC Final Selection Camp gets underway in Navi Mumbai

The fourth edition of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) final selection camp commenced on Wednesday with budding young footballers arriving at Beverly Park in Navi Mumbai. The camp which goes on for six days until 7th May features 60 children handpicked by RFYC scouts from across the country. The selection camp serves as a prestigious opportunity for these youngsters to become the latest additions to the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Academy. Accredited by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), RFYC is recognized as the premier elite youth residential academy in India where a total of 48 youngsters are currently being trained.

Over the course of the camp, the young players will participate in a variety of training drills and tournaments every morning and evening at Reliance Corporate Park. Afternoon sessions will be conducted at Beverly Park where informative and recreational sessions will be held for them.

Piet Hubers, Technical Director of Grassroots Development, and Marcus Vaessen, Head Coach, will conduct the proceedings of the camp. The duo has had extensive coaching experience in the Netherlands and will be responsible for selecting the players for the RFYC programme. The camp will also see representatives from each of the Hero Indian Super League clubs present. These representatives will have the opportunity to scout for prospective talents for their respective youth academies.

It will be an intense and gruelling week for these youngsters as they aim to book their place in the RFYC academy and take their game to the next level.
