They have won only once against us. If I had lost four [games], that would have been frustrating.”Reviewing the Goa team’s performance, he said, “In the first half, we gave away the ball easily. We did create a lot of opportunities, but we were reckless in trying to force a result. The number of bad passes was higher. We played better in the second half and got a lot of chances on goal, but their keeper did a good job.”The game took a strategic turn in the second half, and his tactics had a lot to do with that. “It was strategic. Denson [Devdas] was on a card and if I had to remove him, only Lucca could take his place. So I had to take off the keeper and put an Indian player to follow the limitation.” Could they have pulled one back in? “I can't talk about ifs. We tried our best and my players gave everything in search of a result.”Joffre’s switch from 2014 Hero ISL winners Atlético de Kolkata to FC Goa this season sure did prove fruitful in this match. Zico said, “Joffre is an amazing player. He can play in any team in the League and do well. I don't think it was any different today.”
