FC Goa head coach Zico has reiterated that his team will take the field in Sunday’s Hero Indian Super League Season 2 final against Chennaiyin FC with an attacking approach as has been their wont this season. Chennai have won both their previous matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda – 2-1 (last year) and 4-0 (earlier in Season 2) – and Zico expects a tough fight in light of their poor home record against Marco Materazzi’s men. The Brazilian, speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, said the Gaurs will continue their attacking approach that has seen score 32 goals this season, maximum by any team.“I think there is no reason to change the game. We have come so far playing this way so we will play the same way,” Zico told reporters on Saturday.“I think we know the team well but we have lost two times. But the final is different. The ground is same, the ball is same. It's 50-50 for both teams.“Always good to play at home. Don't see it as an advantage [though]. In the Hero ISL, many teams have won away games. In India, not much difference in the Hero ISL.”When both teams played their first encounter of this season, Chennai ran away to a 4-0 win thanks to Stiven Mendoza’s hat-trick at Fatorda. Zico acknowledged the threat posed by the Colombian hitman, the top-scorer this season with 12 goals. “I would like to congratulate everyone and Materazzi and Elano here. It's always very difficult to stop a player like Mendoza and if we could stop him, it would be very good for us.”Both Goa and Chennai were beaten in the semi-finals last season and this year they have been the two most high-scoring teams on 32 and 29 goals respectively. “I think even last year, the final could have been Chennai vs Goa. I always think the top two teams should get the advantage. I think the two most deserving teams have got through this season,” Zico said.Star defender Lucio also accompanied Zico to the press conference and echoed his coach’s sentiments. “I also think the same. Both the teams have an equal chance. Both teams are there because they deserve it,” Lucio said. The duo also put a big premium on winning the Hero ISL trophy. “I think for me, it's very important. Past is past [referring to his previous triumphs]. I'm enjoying it and it's very important for me [winning the trophy],” Lucio said.“This title, doesn't matter wherever in the world it is. This is as important as [others have been],” Zico weighed in.When asked what could possibly be the deciding factor in the eventual outcome of the game on Sunday, Lucio said: “I think every game is history. Whoever keeps balance and plays good football will win.”While Zico stressed the importance of being attentive in a match that could very well go beyond 90 minutes. “We have to be attentive all the time,” he said.“Our team is ready. We'll play according to the rules – 90 minutes or 120 minutes, whatever.”Zico also said that defender Raju Gaikwad was a doubt ahead of the game while their top-scorer Reinaldo could put in an appearance.
