Delhi Dynamos FC head coach Gianluca Zambrotta is excited ahead of his team’s first home game of the season in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League on Saturday evening. Following a 3-1 win against defending champions Chennaiyin FC and 0-0 draw against Kerala Blasters FC, the Lions host NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital, and speaking to the media on Friday, Zambrotta said he is looking forward to playing in front of home fans for the first time this season.“We hope all the Delhi Dynamos FC supporters will come. It’s a special invitation to all the Delhi Dynamos FC supporters to come to the stadium and support us because we need all the support,” Zambrotta said. When asked to comment on their rivals, who are heading into the game on the back of three wins out of four matches, the World Cup-winning Italian said: “NorthEast United FC play defensively but are very good on the counter with [Emiliano] Alfaro, [Nicolas] Velez and Katsumi [Yusa]. We are doing our best to avoid such attacks.”Lions goalkeeper Toni Doblas, who had a great day at the office in his team’s 0-0 draw against Kerala Blasters, echoed the head coach’s sentiments. “The new NorthEast United FC team is better than last season. They are more organized and a complete team. So we have to take precautions because it will be difficult. It is our first game at home so we have to try to win,” the 36-year-old custodian said.Zambrotta also praised the Hero ISL, India’s biggest football league, and came up with a few suggestions for more improvement. “ISL is at a very good level. You can only keep improving the level of ISL but you need to start improving from the base. The concept is very important, of foreign players coming to India to play and to teach as well. If they come towards the end of their career or come here thinking it’s a holiday it’s no good for the Indian players. They are more than welcome to play professionally and to teach as well. It is important to have very good scouting as well to find good talent. It is also important to have good coaches so these coaches can teach the players,” the 39-year-old said.
