The Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) selection camp will be held between 20th and 26th May in Navi Mumbai. Two hundred of the most talented individuals born in 2002, 2003 or 2004 identified during the Club-organised grassroots festivals will be put through the paces during the week-long camp. The children will arrive in Mumbai on 19th May and begin training the following evening. The participants will be training at the Agnel Charities football ground in Vashi and the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.The selection process will be overseen by Piet Hubers, Technical Director of ISL’s Grassroots programme, Marcus Vaessen, Head Coach of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs programme in conjunction with Clubs’ grassroots coaches. The camp is aimed at identifying the best footballing talent in the country and providing them an opportunity to develop their skills and grow into not only excellent players that can drive Indian football forward but also well-rounded individuals that can excel in any field they choose.The best talent amongst the 200 children will be awarded the Reliance Foundation Young Champs Scholarship. The scholarship is a one of a kind multi-year fulltime residential football & education scholarship that seeks to assist the nation in creating not only the next generation of football stars, but also its future role models and leaders. The scholarship will cover multiple facets of individual development including football coaching, access to quality education and a professionally designed nutrition programme catering to young athletes.
