NorthEast United FC head coach Nelo Vingada is a confident man following their 1-0 win against Kerala Blasters FC in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League opener on Saturday, and is now ready to topple the mighty FC Goa in his team's second game of the season at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday. The Highlanders have never beaten the Gaurs in their previous four matches with two ending in Goa's win and two in draws but Vingada is hoping to turn the tables on Tuesday.Speaking to the media ahead of the game, the Portuguese said: “This season there is a new coach [at NEUFC], new ideas so I hope we can break that trend.“I always tell my players the next game is the most important as well as the most difficult. The game before against Kerala is gone, nothing can be changed and there is no time to think about the future games, hence our concentration is on the game against Goa.“Playing at home is an obvious advantage, also playing a game already in the league gives a better reading of the competition because Goa have not yet played. Goa also have an advantage as their players would be fresher than our players because the first game was very intense and hard, since it was so early in the league and the players were not ready to play at that intensity for 90 minutes.“We will try to apply pressure and make the game as difficult as we can for Goa. I hope it will be a great game and great promotion for Indian football.”FC Goa coach Zico has been with the Gaurs since the first edition of the league, while Vingada is new here having joined the Highlanders recently. When asked if Zico's experience with the Hero ISL could give the Gaurs the upper hand on Tuesday, Vingada didn't seem very impressed. “It is some advantage but not a complete advantage because I have coached in some countries for the first time and we have been champions there. Having good players, and that they make good interpretation of the plan and training is most important. That is the best and most important advantage. I hope his knowledge of Indian football doesn't play a big part in the game,” he said. However, Vingada admitted that having played only three days ago could be a matter of concern on Tuesday as there hadn't been enough recovery time for his players. “In normal competitions 72 hours in considered the minimum time to recover. It will be difficult for us but we will compensate with our spirit and our fight.”Vingada also provided an update on the fitness status of his team besides replying to a query from the media whether there will be any changes in the playing XI on Tuesday. “Didier Zokora [marquee] is not fit yet and Robert Cullen is coming in. Also, Seityasen Singh was a little bit jaded in the last game and he is unlikely for the game tomorrow.“With the squad that I have, I trust that all players can make the starting XI. I am pretty sure that only with Indian players, we have the capacity to present a good XI… We surely have to make one or two player changes, nothing more than that hopefully,” he said.
