Kerala Blasters FC interim head coach TG Purushothaman voiced his displeasure as they lost 2-0 against Manolo Marquez's FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa, on Saturday.

The Blasters' performance was a tale of two halves. While the first half met expectations for the Blasters, the second half saw significant setbacks. Initially, the team executed their game plan effectively, but a lapse in concentration led to conceding a goal in the opening minute of the second half.

Match Report: FC Goa 2-0 Kerala Blasters FC

This moment marked a turning point, as the team's midfield struggled to regain control, and a lack of adaptation to unforeseen circumstances resulted in another goal against them in the 73rd minute, ultimately sealing their goalless defeat.

Purushothaman reflected on their defeat, noting how the Blasters had started off relatively well. However, the inability to maintain consistency in performance was evident in the second half.

"Yeah, the match went well for the first half. In the second half, we lost a moment early on, and that led to conceding a goal. From there, our creation was not happening in the midfield, and we lost it in the midfield, and so again we conceded a goal, and it was over," he stated during the post-match press conference.

When talking about changes brought onto the field, and whether it was all according to the game plan or if the forced changes disrupted the original strategy.

The coach said, "It depends on that individual's games. We were compelled to change three players. It was against our plans and everything. It happens when you play away matches. It's quite natural for a professional player to overcome all these things and put in a good performance."

Finally, Purushothaman shared his team's plans for the remaining fixtures and his approach going forward, emphasizing a commitment to their supporters and the club's values.

"We have another match on the first of next month against Jamshedpur FC, so we are planning for that. We have to come back, and we have to play for our badge, we have to play for our fans and play for our team. We have to keep up with what we are, and we have to go through all the circumstances and come out victorious. That's it," he concluded.
