A disappointed Goan side lost to Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, by a solitary goal scored by Milagres Gonsalves. Statistically, FC Goa are the most attacking team in the Hero Indian Super League, but have not many goals or results to show for it. When asked how he would rate the team’s performance in their game against Kerala Blasters, Bruno Filipe Tavares Pinheiro was honest but hopeful.“It’s been the same story so far. We created a lot of chances, we managed to play better than our opponents like in every game, but in the end we conceded a goal. I can’t point out to specific areas, but we need to improve our finishing overall. I can’t say we have lacked luck, because we’ve been playing better with each game. There are still plenty of games, and the championship is still open,” the Goa midfielder said in an exclusive post-match interview with www.indiansuperleague.com.There were slight concerns with the ground as it has served as a cricket pitch too. But the Portuguese footballer brushed that off and did not want to give excuses. “The pitch was very hard, especially in the middle of the field. It is very difficult for player movements. But I would not like to use that as an excuse. If it was hard for us, it was hard for them (Kerala Blasters) too. The conditions were the same for both teams, so we can’t say we lost because of that.”The weather has been a challenging aspect for the players in the tournament so far, especially with the packed schedule. And the overseas players have found it tough at times. “The foreigners had some difficulties in the beginning, but now all of them have had the same period of time to adapt to the conditions. So I think we are in the same condition, concerning the humidity. It’s harder for us obviously, but we try to give our best in every game,” he reflected.Pinheiro and FC Goa now travel back home for their next fixture on Sunday against a resurgent Mumbai City FC.
