Kerala Blasters FC need to return to winning ways quickly if they are to qualify for the 2015 Hero Indian Super League semi-finals. With eight points from nine matches, the Blasters are propping up the table, and ahead of their game against hosts NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, head coach Terry Phelan admitted his team was in a spot of bother and desperately needed a few wins to get back on track.“Things have been a bit difficult for us. But we haven’t been playing badly, we have been playing some good football in the last few games. So hopefully the boys can keep that going,” the Irish told reporters on Saturday.Kerala assistant coach Trevor Morgan, who sat alongside Phelan at the press conference, drew up what they needed to do to make it to the semis. “We’ve been through the previous matches, we know the position we are in. But the important thing for us is to go and get the three points for the team.“There won’t be any negativity from us out there. We are in a position that we don’t like to be in. But that’s the reality and we need to probably win 4 of our last 5 games. If we don’t do that it will be very difficult. Of course, in football anything is possible. Until it is mathematically impossible for us we have to believe that we can do it,” Morgan said.Kerala’s opponents NorthEast are one of the form teams at the moment, having secured seven points from their last three outings. Phelan admitted they were up against a tough team. “I think NorthEast is a good team. They are raging with confidence at the moment, they’ve had some very good results of late and they have some great players in their side. We know that we can’t switch off, they’ve got a good footballing mind. But we know that we need to take the game forward to them. We can’t sit back, we got to take the game forward and hopefully get three points,” Phelan said.
