Chennaiyin FC host FC Pune City at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai for their ninth game of the Hero Indian Super League. Chennai, who have managed only a draw in each of their previous four encounters, will look to take away full points from the game tomorrow. Player-head coach Marco Materazzi spoke to the media in a pre-match press conference addressing issues such as missed chances and the string of shared points. “It's not ideal but this happens in football. In a couple of those games we should have won three points, but there was one game also where we scored late to earn a point. There is no point looking back now. We have six more finals in the league stage starting tomorrow,” said the former Italian international in regard to their point sharing streak.Although playing in front of your home crowd is usually considered to be an advantage, it can also put extra pressure on a team – no side wants to lose in front of their home fans. Materazzi spoke rather calmly in this respect saying, “Pressure is part of life. So we are not bothered by it. We will try to play our best and get maximum points.”Chennaiyin could have easily won the game against Pune City when they travelled north to Pune, but missed opportunities saw the teams split the points. “Yes, we missed a lot of chances, but the good thing was, we created plenty. Hopefully, our conversion rate will be better in this match,” said the World Cup winner. Materazzi was also asked about the increased defensive attention opponents are paying to marquee player and the league's leading scorer Elano. “I think that's very normal. Elano has already played eight games and despite the tactics and strategies of other teams, he has still managed to score. I am not worried about, ” said Materazzi.
