FC Goa face Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Tuesday with both teams looking for their third win in Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20. Sergio Lobera’s men, of course, will look to continue their unbeaten run in Hero ISL 2019-20 with another win in front of their vociferous and passionate fans.

While speaking at the pre-match press conference, the FC Goa head coach made his happiness with his players’ performances so far clear. “I am very happy with my players. Every match is a different situation. We are unbeaten so far and it is difficult to maintain such a record for four matches. I am very happy with the game against Chennaiyin. In NorthEast, it was different because I felt we lost two points. The best match was against Mumbai where we scored a lot of goals and got the three points against a very good team,” Lobera said.

“I think we are a strong team. The (upcoming) game against Jamshedpur is an opportunity for us to show our quality as a team. It is difficult for us, but we are building a strong and confident team. Both teams have had a long break. We tried to work and are prepared for the upcoming clash,” he added.

Despite being aware of the quality that Jamshedpur possess, Lobera seemed confident about his team taking something from the game. “Jamshedpur is a very strong team. They are a very good set of players. I think they have a very good balance and that makes a difference. It’s going to be a very difficult match for us. We need to work very well and play in our style. We need to play well and score goals. We need this. But I think against Jamshedpur the situation will be different, but we should get at least one point. The future is difficult. Everything else is in the past and we need to work to achieve things in the future now,” the 42-year-old said.

The Spaniard was joined by midfielder Edu Bedia, who shared his coach’s confidence in the team. “I will play whenever the time comes. All the time I have been out it hasn’t been a problem because we have a big squad which has a lot of quality.  The sooner you forget about injuries, the faster you can recover. Now that I am fit, it is time for the coach to decide whether I play or not,” he said.
