Week 6 of the Hero I-League saw Bengaluru FC suffer their second loss of the season as they went down to Sporting Clube de Goa at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday. Odafa Onyeka Okolie gave the visitors the lead before CK Vineeth of Kerala Blasters FC equalised only for Okolie to score his second of the night and hand Sporting Clube de Goa a 2-1 win.

Meanwhile, East Bengal moved up to second in the table after a 2-0 win over Aizawl FC on Friday put them on 11 points from six games and one point behind league leaders Bengaluru FC having played the same number of matches.

East Bengal got back to winning ways this week courtesy of strikes from Bikash Jairu (FC Pune City) and Bernard Mendy (Chennaiyin FC). The Hero ISL duo scored within two minutes of each other to help the Gold and Red Brigade brush aside Aizawl FC and move up to second in the standings.

Elsewhere, DSK Shivajians registered their first win of the season as they beat neighbours Mumbai FC 1-0 thanks to a Douhou Pierre goal at the Balewadi Sports Complex Stadium in Pune.

Reigning champions Mohun Bagan lie third on 10 points but they have played two games fewer than Bengaluru FC and East Bengal.
