Atlético de Kolkata head coach Antonio López Habas

Atlético de Kolkata have retained their Head Coach Antonio López Habas for the second season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). Habas guided Kolkata to the title in the inaugural edition last year. During the campaign, the team lost only three matches on their road to the final. Having helped Atlético de Kolkata form one of the meanest defences in the league, conceding only 13 goals during the course of the competition, Habas and his team’s fans will be hoping for an encore during the upcoming season.

With new additions - Clifford Miranda, Jewel Raja, Nadong Bhutia, Sushil Kumar Singh and Syed Rahim Nabi - being bought in to strengthen his squad, Habas will be looking to retain the prestigious title this coming season.

"Our head coach and the management have made some prudent choices which will enable football lovers to enjoy the season to the fullest. The overall experience of the players we have selected today is a rich blend of experience along with diversity in their styles of playing the game," said co-owner Sanjiv Goenka at a press conference.

Habas, who has coached the likes of Valencia, Granada, Celta de Vigo and Sporting Gijon, will be looking to add more silverware to his collection with Atlético de Kolkata.
