Buoyed by their recent successes, Josep Gombau’s Delhi Dynamos FC will next aim to derail FC Goa when they face the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19's highest scoring team at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on Monday. A 2-0 win over Kerala Blasters FC in their last match was the Dynamos’ second victory on the bounce, after failing to win any of their opening 11 matches.

Asked if the team will have to take special preparations for their encounter against the free-scoring Gaurs, who have netted a whopping 29 goals in just 13 matches, Gombau said, "Yes, it is a team that is very good. We know this, everybody knows this. And we are preparing very well for this game."

The 42-year-old also gave his opinion on Goa's talismanic striker Ferran Corominas, who recently became the Hero ISL's all-time top goal scorer. "Corominas is a very good striker. But we also have good players. Tomorrow will be a very good game," he opined.

Gombau deployed midfielder Rene Mihelic as a striker in the last match against Kerala Blasters and the gambit played out pretty nicely for the Lions. Quizzed if we will opt to use the same system against Goa, he said, "We’ll see. We have 20 players available and every game is different. We are thinking of which players we should use."

The Spaniard then expressed his delight with new signing Ulises Davila, who had an impressive outing against Kerala. "I’m so happy with him. He’s working very hard in training sessions and also in the game. He’s a very good player with good quality. He is also a nice person, and everybody is happy with him," Gombau said.

In the reverse fixture between the two teams earlier this season, the Gaurs edged the Lions 3-2 with a late goal. Asked if that match will play on his players' minds during Monday's fixture, Gombau said, "What happened, happened in the past. I think we did a very good game in Goa. We had more chances than them. I think we deserved to win that game. We missed our chances. We need to be sure that tomorrow if we have chances, we take them."

Gombau also revealed that the team had no injury concerns as such going into Monday's match.
