After a potent season with FC Pune City in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), English centre-back Roger Johnson has gone back to Charlton Athletic on an 18-month deal. The “Football League Championship” club had released him in the summer for Hero ISL 2015.The defender featured in 11 matches for the Stallions, who finished seventh in the eight-team league. The 32-year-old also provided one assist. However, it was his goal-line clearance against FC Goa that really caught the imagination of fans. “I'm very pleased to welcome Roger back to The Valley," said Charlton Athletic interim head coach Karel Fraeye."He's obviously a player who knows the club and, importantly, knows the league. He did the job last season, he brings a big voice on the pitch and he will bring us the experience we need," he added.
