A new face was seen at Delhi Dynamos’ pre-season friendly against Swedish side BK Hacken at the Bravida Arena on Thursday. In the match, the Roberto Carlos-led team welcomed Dutch veteran Serginho Greene to the Hero Indian Super League.

Apart from being a powerful contributor to the defence force, Serginho also has speed and the knack of reading the game well. Born in Amsterdam, he built his youth career at the Ajax Amsterdam academy and went on to play for several Eredivisie clubs. He also plied his trade with several other European leagues before turning his compass towards the Indian subcontinent.

Serginho has also donned the national team colours with the U-16 and U-21 teams. Coach Carlos seemed impressed with the Netherlands-born footballer’s ability to learn and grow.

Delhi Dynamos take on FC Goa at the Fatorda Stadium in their first game of the 2015 Hero Indian Super League. The match is scheduled for October 4.
