© ISLIndia’s capital city, which for long has lacked a top flight-football club of its own, will now have one with the launch of the Delhi Dynamos FC, which will play in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). The club is owned by Den Soccer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Den Networks. Besides the unveiling of the team name, philosophy and anthem at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Den also announced its alliance with leading Dutch club and academy Feyenoord Rotterdam. In its history, Feyenoord have won 14 Eredivisie titles, one European Cup, two UEFA Cups, and one Intercontinental Cup. The club was ranked No. 1 for player development at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Twelve players including Robin Van Persie, Stefan De Vrij, and Bruno Martins Indi, who helped the Dutch to a third-placed finish at the quadrennial event, were groomed at Feyenoord, which was voted as the best academy in the Netherlands for five successive years.As part of the alliance, Feyenoord will share its immense knowledge of the sport and assist Delhi Dynamos in the overall development of its team, in addition to providing world class players and technical staff.
