FC Goa take on Delhi Dynamos FC in a bottom of the table clash in the national capital on Wednesday. Delhi are the only team that Zico’s side have managed to take three points off and the Brazilian will be looking to repeat that feat by doing the double over Harm Van Veldhoven’s outfit. Both teams were involved in goalless draws in their previous matches. Delhi created a few chances against hosts Kerala but failed to score. The Goans dominated the match against Mumbai at home, yet came away with only a single point. The repeated failure of his strikers is becoming a major issue for Zico. Both teams will be hoping to change the script and return to winning ways which will greatly help them in their quest for a top four spot. The statistics show that Goa are clearly the superior side from an attacking point of view despite scoring one goal less than the Dynamos who have six. Goa have taken more shots (103-78) and also have more on target (55-30) as compared to the hosts. Having kept three clean sheets in the tournament so far, Kristof Van Hout is leading the charts for the Golden Glove. Jan Seda, in the meantime, only has one clean sheet and he will be looking to better that tally. Van Hout also has a better save percentage (89%) than Seda (75%).Form Guide (most recent match first)Delhi Dynamos FC: DLLDWFC Goa: DLWLLShylo Malswamtluanga vs Narayan DasThe midfielder from Mizoram has been an important part of Van Veldhoven’s set-up. His trickery and pace are vital to Dehi’s attack and he will push forward once more from the flanks. His attitude and mentality make him a dangerous player for the home side and Goa left back Narayan Das will have to be vigilant throughout the match to stop the winger from running forward and crossing. Das has been impressive for Goa and his willingness to join the attack and track back make him a valuable asset. He will hope to continue his good form in the tournament against Delhi.Mads Junker vs Grégory ArnolinFormer Danish international Mads Junker has been the go to striker for the Dynamos. Junker gets into excellent positions on the pitch and is a good header of the ball. He has already scored once against Goa and will want to do the same again. In his way will be Grégory Arnolin. The Frenchman finally helped his side to keep a clean sheet in the tournament against a potent Mumbai attack. He will want to continue that run and keep the big Delhi forward out. Arnolin is also a danger from set-pieces and is the top scorer for Goa.Wim Raymaekers vs Tolgay ÖzbeyRaymaekers is an excellent defender who reads the game well. He gets into defensive positions quickly when the opposition is on the attack and is one of the major reasons why Delhi has kept three clean sheets. Raymaekers is also dangerous from set-pieces, having scored a brilliant left-footed goal against Chennayin FC. He will have to contain the threat posed by Tolgay Ozbey. The Australian scored the match winner against Delhi in their previous meeting and will want to repeat his feat. He will prove to be a handful for Delhi defenders with his strength and speed.Players to watchDelhi Dynamos FCSteven Dias – Dias has been brilliant for Delhi. The Mumbai-born winger is one of the best crossers in the league and has troubled defences throughout the tournament with his accurate deliveries. Having provided one assist already, Dias will be looking to further that tally and also get onto the score sheet himself.FC GoaGabriel Fernandes – The diminutive Goan winger was an important part of Zico’s team before he missed a few games through injury. Making his return in the previous game against Mumbai, ‘Gaby’ continued his good form, running towards goal from the right and cutting in to shoot. The pacy winger will have to be kept under control by the Delhi fullbacks in order to prevent him from causing damage.
