Hyderabad FC interim head coach Shameel Chembakath called for his side to learn from their mistakes after they went down to East Bengal FC in the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata, on Wednesday.

Hyderabad FC started off with a fighting spirit, holding down the fort in the fast half. But soon the pressure from East Bengal FC's set pieces had a detrimental impact on their performance during the second half, paving the way to an own goal by their defender Manoj Mohammed and soon after, another goal by East Bengal FC's latest addition, Raphael Bouli. Ending the night with another tough defeat, which was their 13th of the season.

Chembakath noted that while the first half showcased a promising start, the team's defensive discipline faltered significantly in the second half. He further emphasised the importance of maintaining composure under pressure, particularly in dealing with set pieces, which contributed to their loss.

"Yeah, I think a good first half, we started well. But in the second half, defensively we are not disciplined. We just need to be more calm, more composed. I think too much pressure was on set pieces and on the number of set pieces which we conceded. I think this is one of the things which we need to work on, we also need to be more stable and disciplined in defence," he stated during the post-match press conference.

Looking ahead, Chembakath stressed the significance of focusing on the upcoming matches, particularly the final two fixtures. They will host Punjab FC followed by another home clash against Kerala Blasters FC to wrap up the season. He urged the team to remain concentrated and prepared to secure positive results.

"I think we just need to focus on the next two matches. That's the last two matches in ISL. I think we just need to be focused and prepared to make it a positive result for the coming match," he concluded.
