Delhi Dynamos FC marquee player-cum-coach Roberto Carlos was a relieved man after his team salvaged a point against Mumbai City FC in their Hero Indian Super League Season 2 game at home on Friday evening. Carlos’ team dominated the game in all aspects at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium but it was Mumbai who scored first in the 70th minute through Frederic Piquionne and just when it looked like that the hosts will suffer a defeat, Robin Singh’s strike in the dying moments of the game bailed them out.“It would have been the worst defeat of my life. My team was pressurizing from the beginning, we had more chances, more possession…My team played very well,” Carlos told reporters after the match.Delhi played out a draw in the last game too, with NorthEast United FC. On their second successive draw at home, the Brazilian said, “Again NorthEast, I wasn’t happy. But tonight I am very happy. The coach and the players always want to win. They deserved the last-minute goal, because they made a lot of effort.”Carlos also explained the rationale behind using a different striking combination of Seminlen Doungel and Adil Nabi in the match. “We have way too many games going. Players don’t recover very fast. That’s why we have been changing…As far as the defence is concerned, I don’t need to change much because they don’t run much,” the Brazilian said.On Mumbai’s defensive approach throughout the match, Carlos, whose team joined FC Goa at the top on 14 points, said: “Normally when you play against a defensive team, you have to take care of possession. To be very honest, the more important thing is that my team fought very hard…In a game like this, if we were focused on passing more accurately, we could have won 3-0. But we were unlucky.”
