Photo credit: Indian Football Team / TwitterThe Indian colts will take to the field for their second FIFA Under-17 World Cup tie on Monday evening when they welcome Colombia at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.Having put on a noteworthy show in their opener against the United States of America despite going down 3-0, Luis Norton de Matos’ boys will be looking to bounce back with a positive result. Playing at any level of the FIFA World Cup for the first time, the Indians can take heart from their previous match after holding their own against a formidable American side for majority of the game. Currently at the bottom of Group A, they will be facing the team just above them in third spot in front of home support.Winger Komal Thatal, who was impressive in the previous match with his trickery and pacey runs down the flanks, will again have a role to play. Centre-back Anwar Ali also put on a good show, keeping USA’s threatening attack at bay for long stretches of the game besides venturing forward to help his teammates at times. Another stand-out performer for the Indians was goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh, whose amazing shot-stopping prowess and decisiveness in front of goal would have made many a professional of the game proud. Substitute Rahim Ali was another individual who caught the eye following his introduction from the bench and De Matos may feel inclined to hand the 17-year-old from Bengal a start.Meanwhile, Colombia will also be in search of a win after a 1-0 loss against Ghana in their opener. The South American side, managed by Orlando Restrepo, made their opponents sweat for their victory with a solid display. While attacking, their main go-to man was Leandro Campaz. The left winger caused quite a few problems for the Ghana defence with his lightning speed and clever dribbling. He is one player who could give the Indian backline a severe headache. Goalkeeper Kevin Meir came up with some heroic saves that kept it at 1-0.With both teams desperate to get their first point of the tournament, it has all the makings of an end-to-end encounter with plenty of attacking invention and goal-mouth action on the cards.
