Vineeth: I told the coach we were going to win

CK Vineeth returned from AFC Cup participation and scripted a 2-1 victory for Kerala Blasters FC against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday evening. Vineeth scored his goal in the dying moments of the game as the Blasters came from behind to register their third win of the season. The 28-year-old midfielder spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts on the win that has propelled the Blasters to fourth in the standings. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Your first match this season, what are your thoughts on the game?

Our team worked very hard to get three points, and for this huge crowd today we needed to get three points and we delivered.

How big a career moment is this for you?

I don’t think about career moments. I just want to live in the moment

What are your thoughts on the goal, were you expecting to score?

When I was entering the field I told the coach that we were going to win and it happened.

Are you in a very confident mood after your heroics with Bengaluru FC?

When I play football, it makes me the happiest, so when I play football I don’t care about anything else.

Next is Chennaiyin, are you looking forward to coming back and playing here?

We are looking forward to every match. I think we need to qualify for the semi-finals. The fans here are amazing and deserve at least the semi-finals. They deserve more but first we need to qualify for the semi-finals.
