Kerala Blasters FC turned on the style as they completed a stunning comeback against Chennaiyin FC in the second south Indian derby of Hero Indian Super League 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Saturday evening. The hosts fell behind to a deflected Bernard Mendy effort in the first half before Didier Boris Kadio equalised for the Blasters in the 66th minute. A brace from CK Vineeth in the final six minutes of the game ensured Steve Coppell’s men claimed maximum points as well as bragging rights. Vineeth spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the game and was joined by team-mate Antonio German, who provided the assists for Kerala’s first and third goal. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Antonio, two dramatic back-to-back games for you. In both games, you came out all guns blazing in the second half. Is it something to do with the half-time chat?I don’t know, it seems we are a second-half team. We had a lot of chances towards the end of the game, felt like we were the fitter team as well as the better team today and hopefully we can continue to win games.Vineeth, you have just come back into the team and now you have three goals in two matches. What do you have to say about that?Actually, I’m not happy with my performance. The team won and everyone else played a very good game, I just scored two goals. I didn’t even touch the ball correctly throughout the game. Luckily I just scored two goals.Antonio, you found a lot of pockets of space in front of their box. How was that happening? Was it because of the movement of your team-mates?Yeah, all of us were on the same wavelength. As the game went on they got tired, which resulted in more space in front of their defence and thankfully we won the game.Vineeth, the fans have always delivered here in Kochi. What’s your take on that? They are amazing. I can’t describe it in words they are truly amazing.
