Kerala Blasters FC midfielder CK Vineeth is all charged up ahead of their first leg of the second semi-final of Hero Indian Super League 2016 against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Sunday. Vineeth has been one of the main reasons behind the Blasters’ late surge to the semis, scoring five goals in six matches after returning from AFC Cup participation. The 28-year-old, who has also provided an assist to his team’s cause, spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the match and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. You have had a fantastic year overall, how excited are you for the semis and potentially go all the way and win it?I am excited for my fans, for the club as last year it was not good for me or for the fans or for the club, and now we are in the semis and we need to keep the momentum going and win the semis and reach the final, and possibly try to win the trophy and I think we can do it.Let’s talk about the semi-final as it is a big match. Is there anything different you do for big matches?Every match is a big match and important and this is slightly bigger because it is a semi-final, and we are going to play the first leg in our home ground and we will try to do well and take the advantage to Delhi.Any special preparations for Marcelinho…No we just need to prepare for the team, and if the team does not play well then he can also not play well.Anas Edathodika, who hails from Kerala, will take the field for Delhi tomorrow. How is your equation with him?Anas is a good friend and I am looking forward to meeting him and he is a good player, a hard defender and tackler, so let’s see what happens.Do you think Anas’ presence will divide the Kerala fans?I don’t think so. They will stay with Kerala Blasters. What advice would you give your team-mates ahead of this game?We just need to keep calm and get the confidence going and if we do this, we can win.
