FC Pune City’s Dutch striker Wesley Verhoek has been sparingly used by head coach David Platt so far in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League. Verhoek has mostly come on as a substitute and with an assist and a passing accuracy of 70%, he has proved that even amidst the likes of Adrian Mutu and Tuncay Sanli, he can hold his own. Ahead of the Stallions’ crucial clash against NorthEast United FC on Wednesday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati, he spoke to indiansuperleague.com. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Looking forward to the game against NorthEast United FC…We have only one option left, win and stay on in the league. With the game crucial for both sides now, what'll be the Stallions’ game plan? The biggest plan will be to win the game. Does not matter how we do it but we cannot lose focus.Who do you consider the biggest threat from the NorthEast United side? They have a lot of smart players like Simao, Bruno [Arias] and Nicolas Velez, and some good Indian players too. But I think we have a better team.Considering NorthEast enjoy considerable home support here, how do you plan to counter that?I've heard that the crowd over here is very good and that is a plus for NorthEast. We need to lay a lot of importance on our remaining games and the thing that matters the most is getting the three points.
