Mumbai City FC’s Andre Moritz may have been adjudged the ‘Hero of the Match’ for his dazzling hat-trick but a certain Subhash Singh made sure he was not too far away from the spotlight. The 24-year-old stocky footballer from Manipur blended speed and skill resulting in a spectacular goal, the third of Match 6 in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). Indiansuperleague.com managed to catch up with him for a quick chat right after his team’s resounding 5-0 victory over FC Pune City.
How was it scoring your first goal in the ISL?
First of all, I'm very happy I was in the starting line-up. In the first match, it wasn't possible but this time the boss gave me a chance. I scored a goal and got an award. I'm very excited.
What about the crowd?
I have just one thing to say. They were awesome and I ask them to keep it up.
How will your team keep this momentum going?
We got strength from the crowd. They support they gave us drove us forward. They motivate us to play.
Did the pitch play a hand?
The pitch made a difference. Kolkata was artificial (turf) unlike this one. This was more spacious to run as well. My dream is to remain unbeaten at home.
